Steam Whistle - Do One Thing Really, Really Well

Brew Ha Ha

Steam Whistle takes part in Brew Ha Ha!

The Georgian Bay Biosphere presents a mix of beer and laughter with Brew-Ha-Ha on Saturday, Oct. 20. This night of craft beer tasting, comedy and musical entertainment will be held at the Parry Sound Golf and Country Club as a fundraiser for the Georgian Bay Biosphere Reserve.
The Brew-Ha-Ha will offer guests samples of several unique beers produced by Ontario craft breweries, with a light dinner included. Participating breweries include Muskoka Brewery, Lake of Bays, Highlander, Nickel Brook and Steamwhistle. Each guest will have the opportunity to taste each beer available from these brewers, meet staff, and learn about the  process of brewing their favourite flavours.

The night will feature entertainment from Parry Sound-born comedian Steven Morel and musical performances by Big Bad Wolf jazz and blues, with musical intermission provided by Mackenzie Richie and Craig Harley. The silent auction will feature pottery, beer glasses and mugs, art and photography as well as other prizes such as ecotourism adventures and spa/massage packages. Tickets for the event are $45 and include the beer tasting, entertainment and food prepared by Fairways restaurant at the Parry Sound Golf and Country Club.

All proceeds raised will support Biosphere education, conservation and community programs. The Lessons in a Backpack program creates opportunities for local teachers and students to explore nature in their own backyards. The State of the Bay report will provide a snapshot of the health of eastern Georgian Bay based on wetland, water quality, and indicators such as forest health. The Life on the Bay Stewardship Program is a free program designed to help home and cottage owners interested in decreasing their ecological footprint through simple changes. The Species at Risk program maintains a database of endangered or threatened species, informs people about habitats within the biosphere, and what they can do to help.

Purchase tickets now by calling             705-774-0978       or pick them up at White Squall downtown store in Parry Sound, The Museum on Tower Hill, or the Parry Sound Golf and Country Club.

The event is sponsored by Moose 103.3 FM, REZ 91.3, the Parry Sound North Star, Creemore Springs Brewery, Lake of Bays Brewing Co., Highlander Brew Co., Steam Whistle Pilsner, Muskoka Brewery, and the Parry Sound Golf and Country Club.
