How long have you been a part of the Steam Whistle/GBF family?
I’ve been here for 8 years but I left before that and came back. I was exposed to the brewery when I was a caterer with DLE and fell in love with the culture as someone on the outside looking in. Matt Weed was the guy that told me to apply and the rest is history.
What is your position at Steam Whistle?
My position is a team player. I’ll help any person in any department. Technically a SteamWhistle REP aka Retail, Events and Promotions although I’ve also done Home Deliveries, worked with the Production crew, Line Cleaning and have had the pleasure of wearing many other hats at the brewery.

My role is the same as all of us, to continue the culture at the brewery as it has been our biggest tool driving us forward with the ability to embrace change with an open mind.
What’s your favourite part about being a tour guide and being a member of the retail staff team?
My favourite part is that I’ve never identified myself as a tour guide as much as an extended part of the family. It makes working honest and fun.
If you had to choose, what would be your favourite aspect of working at Steam Whistle?
I love that I work at a place that has always supported its employees in any endeavour that they want to pursue. From, acting, music, dance, improve, brewing, djing, electronics, etc. The ability to inspire the pursuit of a dream as well as the ability to move for the bottom to the top. That type of empowerment is given to staff, the power to make the right decision. It’s faith in the family.
What makes Steam Whistle stand out as a brand?
The family vibe again stands out. It doesn’t happen in every company that someone can interact with someone from any department like family.
What is a Steam Whistle initiative that means a lot to you?
The investment and support from the brewery in my own personal growth is what has meant the most to me. The brewery has always stood with its employees, and I think that’s a great initiative they have. I just want to say thanks and muchos love.
Is it true when people say the Steam Whistle culture is contagious?
It’s true but it’s up to us to do our part and lead by example. For example, you see a piece of garbage on the floor, pick it up regardless of anything because we’re a team.
