From the inception of Steam Whistle beer, our goal has always been two-fold: exceptional quality and total transparency. That’s why we proudly and openly list our nutrition information. That’s why our sustainable brewing practices are common knowledge. And that’s why Steam Whistle Beer uses a purity seal: to make sure your beer is as fresh and unsullied it was as when it left the brewery.
What is a Purity Seal?
The purity seal is a foil sanitary seal that covers the top of Steam Whistle beer cans. Tim McLaughlin, Vice-President of Marketing for Steam Whistle, explains further: “Our purity seal ensures that your can remains free of potential contaminants it may pick up during shipping and storage before you buy it. When you open that can, we want your Steam Whistle to be as pure as it was when it was filled.”
Steam Whistle Beer: Sanitary AND Sustainable
Like all of Steam Whistle’s practices, the foil purity seal is a green solution, made from 100% recyclable material. After all, quality beer is not truly a quality beer if it is a burden on landfills and our world.
We believe that every single part of the beer drinking experience has to adhere to the strictest standards to be considered top shelf. It’s not enough that we adhere to the Bavarian Purity Act of 1516 and only use four ingredients in our brewing.
And it’s not enough that every single one of these ingredients is of the highest quality. And while it’s all well and good that we want to use our foil sanitary seal to protect your can lip and lid from contaminants, we can’t do this at the expense of our already fragile environment.
So we didn’t.
You can recycle your can, packaging and foil sanitary seals after enjoying our beer. Just like we feel good about every part of our brewing process, we want the people who drink Steam Whistle beers to feel good about every part of the drinking experience.
Thanks to exceptional brewing and a commitment to maintaining uncompromising quality, you can!
Enjoy your Steam Whistle, guilt (and germ) free!
