The promise of Ontario craft brews served up alongside local food vendors is enough to get people out to our backyard in Roundhouse Park celebrating what makes Canadians unique. Great beer, food and a sunny disposition despite frigid temperatures. How prepared you are for RHCBF (clothing wise) will directly impact how awesome of a time you have. Here’s our guide on how to dress for winter craft beer fest success!
A base layer made of natural fibers will help insulate your body and wick away sweat in case you find yourself participating in one of the many games running onsite (Giant Jenga and Tug of War to name a few). Skip the onesie (unless it comes equipped with a trap door) and go for a top and a bottom. You’ll thank us later when trying to use the bathroom.
An insulated mid layer will keep you cozy while you check into craft beer heaven. Sweatpants and a sweatshirt should do you just fine.
How about a branded Craft Beer fest crew neck to remind you of that super awesome beer fest you went to last winter?
A shell will keep you protected from any snow, wind, sleet, lightning or hail (since Canadians should be prepared for anything) A windproof shell will keep all that nastiness at bay.
Make sure you protect yo’ neck and keep the cold air out. A turtleneck, neck warmer or scarf will help keep you nice and cozy.
You can complete your Winter Craft Beer Fest look with our RWCBF branded scarf. We will be selling these in our merch booth.
Your top layer will be what shows your personality – the louder the better!
We’ll be awarding prizes for best retro-ski wear throughout the day, so dress to impress! If your parents don’t have any embarrassing ski wear laying around, you can typically find something out of The Body Break wardrobe archives at Value Village or the Salvation Army.
This will be what makes your retro look pop. Ski goggles or mirrored wrap around sunglasses will give you added protection in addition to pumping your outfit up a notch.
While neon is the obvious choice faux fur will also complete any 80’s ski bunny look.
If retro isn’t your look you can show off some personality by sporting your favorite teams jersey. Not a hockey fan? How about showing off your favorite beer brand?
Warm gloves are a must at RWCBF. When you are choosing gloves think about wearing a liner as well so your paws will be protected whether you’re fishing for your tokens or holding your beer without losing dexterity.
We also recommend looking for gloves that are touch screen compatible like these ones from MEC so you can insta-brag about all the fun you’re having.
We will also be having a contest for best photo of the day so make sure to use our official event hashtag #RWCBF for a chance to win some craft beer gear!
The photo below shows last year’s toque design, we’re keeping the 2015 design a secret until the 31st. There is one thing for sure, we’ll be giving these toques out to the first 500 people through the gates, so make sure to get here nice and early to leave with an awesome souvenir.
Can’t wait to see everyone at Roundhouse park!
