The Butter Bikes 53 is a limited-edition collaboration between Steam Whistle and Butter Bikes, created for simple, reliable city riding in Toronto. The 53 features a lightweight 53cm hi-tensile steel frame and a single-speed drivetrain, with fewer parts to maintain and nothing unnecessary to get in the way. No derailleurs, shifters or cables—just a quiet, smooth ride that’s easy to own and built to handle everyday city streets.

The 44T front chainring and 18T rear cog provide a 1:2.44 gear ratio tuned for Toronto’s mostly flat streets, while the rear freewheel can be swapped to a 16T or 14T for more top-end speed. Anti-puncture 700×28 hybrid tires offer traction in wet conditions, with clearance for tires up to 700×35.
The 53 features dual-pivot rim brakes, sealed cartridge bearings in the wheel hubs, headset and bottom bracket, a corrosion-resistant chain, and reinforced aluminum rims. Designed to fit riders from 5′4″ to 6′0″ (160–180cm), it’s a dependable everyday bike for commuting, cruising and getting around the city.

You can grab our beer at The Beer Store, LCBO, Costco, and select convenience stores and grocers. Or skip the trip and have cold pilsner delivered straight to your door from The Beer Store, LCBO, or The Beer Guy.
