The hospitality industry is one of the hardest hit during Covid 19 – from large scale events to sharing a beer and a bite at your neighbourhood pub. Q: What’s the criteria for eligibility to enter the In Service of Love contest?
At least one of the two people getting married must work in the Hospitality industry in the GTA (Restaurant, Hotel, Events, Tourism). Submissions outside of this will not be considered.
Q: Can I pick my ceremony date and time?
The wedding is scheduled for August 15, 2020. Exact timing TBA.
Q: Can I invite more than 50 guests to the ceremony?
The maximum number of guests for the ceremony will be capped at 50 guests for the ceremony and 10 guests for an intimate dinner.
Q: How many people can I have in my bridal party?
To ensure accommodations for physical distancing due to COVID-19, bridal parties will not be incorporated for the safety of all guests and staff.
Q: Can I host a reception after the ceremony?
At this time receptions are not permitted due to government mandated restrictions on mass gatherings, however an outdoor private dinner for 10 guests catered by the Biergarten Restaurant and The Food Dudes will be provided.
Q: Is it possible to live stream the ceremony and/or the reception to guests who are not able to attend?
Absolutely! Our expert Audio Visual partner EPiQ Vision will provide streaming options for the ceremony so all of your desired guests can virtually attend.
Q: Can I choose to hire my preferred vendors such as my photographer & officiant?
All services including photography, planning, florals etc. are provided. You can hire an officiant of your choice.
Q: Can I customize my décor and florals?
An expert design team has curated a premium wedding experience, with stunning décor and florals, so all you have to do is pick your guest list!
Q: What type of cleaning and sanitization will be done before, and during, the wedding?
Safety is our first priority. The venue will be thoroughly sanitized prior to the event. Washroom attendants will be monitoring and sanitizing the washrooms after each use.
Q: Can you guarantee a COVID-19 free space?
We are going above and beyond to ensure the safety of our guests, staff and vendors.
We will pre-screen all guests, staff and vendors, virtually in advance of entering the venue. Our incredible security partners at Sentinel Security Services will administer touchless screening procedures upon guest arrival. We will clean and sanitize all surfaces regularly during the day and evening. Sanitizer stations, masks and face shields will be readily available. We have ensured all vendors are applying elevated levels of safety and caution to their services and practices. While a COVID-19 free space is not guaranteed, you can count on Steam Whistle to do everything we can, and keep updated on all government restrictions and recommendations.
Q: Do you have mask requirements for guests and staff?
Government mandated physical distancing measures will be in place, wearing a mask is optional for guests and we will have ample available. Face shields will be provided for all staff and vendors.
Q: Will there be a hand sanitizer station available for guests to use?
Yes, multiple hand sanitizing stations will be available for your guests throughout the venue.
Q: What safety measures are in place for the guests and staff working the event?
Steam Whistle’s safety precautions include pre-screening questionnaire and temperature checks upon entry for both guests and staff, frequent handwashing protocols and face shields for all staff. Government mandated physical distancing measures will be in place, mandatory masks will be determined by current Government Policy. We will have masks available on site. Face Shields will be provided for all staff and vendors.
Q: How far apart will the chairs be spaced for the ceremony?
Ceremony chairs will be placed in pairs separated by 2 meters from other pairs.

Official Rules and Regulations In Service of Love
Entry Period: July 7, 2020 – June 21, 2020
Contest Rules
1. CONTEST PERIOD The “In Service of Love” Contest (the “Contest”) is administered by Steam Whistle Brewing (or the “Administrator”) and will take place in Canada from July 7, 2020, at 12:00 p.m. (EST) to July 21, 2020 at 11:59 p.m. (EST) (the “Contest Period”).
2. ELIGIBILITY
No purchase necessary. Limit one (1) entry per couple. The Contest is open to all couples (“Participants”) who:
a. Currently reside in the province of Ontario;
b. At least one of the two applicants currently work or it was their last employment before Covid-19 in the hospitality industry - employees of hotels, restaurants, casinos, theme parks, cruise lines, and other facilities providing customer service. Applicant must provide current or previous place of employment and position/title.
c. Are 19 years of age or older, as of the date of entering the Contest; c. Are not an employee, director, or officer (or a person with whom an employee, director, or officer is domiciled) of Steam Whistle Brewing or Toronto Wedding Collective.
d. Neither of the two applicants have a wedding currently booked at Steam Whistle. Entries from couples who are already booked will not qualify for the contest.
3. METHODS OF ENTRY
There is one (1) way to enter the Contest:
a. Visit www.inserviceoflove.ca during the Contest Period and complete the Contest Entry form, include short explanation of 500 words or less explaining why you should be selected as the Winner.

There is one Grand Prize (“Prize”) to be won, including:
5. PRIZE RESTRICTIONS
Winner must accept the Prize as offered, no substitutions or Prize will be forfeited. Both Winners (the couple) must be 19 years of age or older as of July 7, 2020. No refund or compensation will be made in the event of the cancellation or delay due to government regulations and/or weather. All additional expenses and incidental costs not expressly stated in the Prize description above, including, but not limited to, transportation, an officiant, marriage licence, taxes or other expenses are the responsibility solely of Winner. Winners must obtain liability insurance in the amount of $2 million for the event. By accepting the prize, winner agrees to abide by any terms, conditions and restrictions provided by the vendors and agrees to give all photography and videography rights to Steam Whistle Brewing and its partners on the contest. No bridal party/procession allowed. No more than 10 guests for dinner.
Approximate Retail Value: $60,000. Actual value may vary. Odds of winning the prize depend on the number of eligible entries received during the Contest Period. Winner is chosen by a Steam Whistle Brewing Panel based on the most touching love story.
6. DRAW
Winning announcement will take place on July 24, 2020, at approximately 12:00 p.m. (EST) in Toronto in the province of Ontario. The Administrator will declare one (1) entry from all eligible entries received during the Contest Period. Steam Whistle Brewing employees will select the winner.
7. AWARDING OF PRIZE
7.1 To be declared the Winner, a selected entrant must, in addition to meeting the Contest Eligibility criteria and otherwise complying with the Contest Rules, first:
a. Be reached by email or phone by the Administrator or its representatives within twenty-four (12) hours following selection of the Entry;
c. Sign and have witnessed the declaration and release documentation and return it via email to the address indicated in the documentation within twenty-four (24) hours following its delivery by the Administrator or its representatives.
d. Applicant must provide contact information of employer and allow the administrator to contact them to verify position and timeline of employment in the hospitality sector.
7.2 Disqualification: If any one of the conditions mentioned above is not met, the selected entrant will be disqualified and shall not be entitled to receive any prize, and the Administrator reserves the right, in its sole and absolute discretion, to select another eligible entrant as a potential prize winner.
7.3 Delivery of Prize: Following receipt of the selected entrant’s signed declaration and release documentation, the Administrator or its representatives will send to the winner an email informing them of the next steps in redeeming the prize.
8. GENERAL TERMS AND CONDITIONS
8.1 Verification of Entries: The validity of any Contest Entry is subject to verification by the Administrator. Any inaccurate, incomplete or fraudulent entries will be disqualified. Any entrant or other individual who enters or attempts to enter the Contest in a manner that is contrary to these Contest Rules or that is otherwise disruptive to the proper operation of the Contest or by its nature is unjust to other entrants or potential entrants will be disqualified. All decisions made by the Administrator or its representatives, including without limitation those concerning the eligibility or disqualification of entrants, are final and binding without right of appeal. All entries become the property of the Administrator and none will be returned.
8.2 Acceptance of Prizes: All prizes must be accepted as described in these Contest Rules and cannot be returned, transferred to another individual, substituted for another prize or exchanged in whole or in part for money.
8.3 Substitution of Prizes: Prize is non-transferable and no substitution will be made except as provided herein at the Administrator’s sole discretion. The Administrator reserves the right, in its sole and absolute discretion, to substitute the prize for one of equal or greater value if the designated prize should become unavailable for any reason, including government restrictions.
8.4 Number of Prizes/Winners: By entering the Contest, each entrant acknowledges that the Administrator shall not be required under any circumstances to award more prizes than the number of available prizes, as set out in these Contest Rules. In the event that, for any reason whatsoever (including, without limitation, as a result of an error, malfunction or defect in the design, advertising, management, government restrictions, implementation or administration of the Contest, whether mechanical, electronic, human or otherwise) the number of declared winners or the number of prizes claimed by entrants is greater than the number of prizes available, the Administrator reserves the right, in its sole and absolute discretion, to end the Contest in whole or in part, without notice and to award the correct number of prizes among the correct number of winners, selected in accordance with these Contest Rules from among those eligible entries validly submitted prior to the termination of the Contest.
8.5 Other Changes to Contest Rules: Without limiting the provisions of Rule 8.3 above, the Administrator reserves the right, in its sole and absolute discretion, to modify, cancel, terminate or suspend the Contest, in whole or in part, in the event of any cause or circumstance, including, without limitation, any virus, computer bug or unauthorized human intervention or any other cause that is beyond the control of the Administrator, that could corrupt or affect the administration, security, impartiality or normal course of the Contest.
8.6 Release and Exclusion of Liability:
a. By the Entrants: By entering or attempting to enter the Contest, each entrant and/or purported entrant agrees: (i) to release, discharge, and forever hold harmless the Administrator, Toronto Wedding Collective and all other listed and unlisted partners selected to supply associated prize benefits (planning, furniture, florals, tent etc.), (the “Contest Group”) and their directors, officers, and shareholders from any and all claims, actions, damages, demands, manner of actions, causes of action, suits, debts, duties, accounts, bonds, covenants, warranties, indemnities, claims over, contracts and liabilities of whatever nature or kind arising out of, or in connection with the entrant’s participation or attempted participation in the Contest, compliance or non-compliance with these Contest Rules and acceptance and use of the prize; and (ii) if selected as a potential winner, to sign the declaration and release documentation in this regard before receiving their prize. The Contest Group and their shareholders will not be responsible for lost, incomplete, late or misdirected entries or for any failure of the Contest website, if applicable, during the Contest Period, or for any technical malfunction or other problems with, any telephone network or lines, computer on-line systems, servers, access providers, computer equipment or software or for any technical problems or traffic congestion on the Internet or at any website, or any combination of the foregoing, and will not be liable for any resulting death, injury or damage to any person or property arising from, or relating to, that person’s or any other person’s participation or attempted participation in the Contest. Any attempt to deliberately damage any website or to undermine the legitimate operation of this Contest is a violation of criminal and civil laws and, should such an attempt be made, the Administrator reserves the right to seek remedies and damages to the fullest extent permitted by law, including criminal prosecution.
b. The winners, will be required to sign documentation stating that they release the Contest Group and their shareholders from any and all liability of any kind arising out of their participation in, and use of, a prize, and authorizes the Administrator and Partners and their advertising and promotional agencies and their respective employees or other representatives to broadcast, publish and otherwise use their name, photograph, image, statements regarding the Contest or any prize, place of residence and (or) voice for publicity purposes, without any form of remuneration.
8.7 Name/Image of Winners: By entering the Contest, each winner authorizes the Administrator & Partners and its advertising and promotional agencies and their respective employees or other representatives to broadcast, publish and otherwise use his or her name, photograph, image, statements regarding the Contest or any prize, place of residence and (or) voice for publicity purposes, without any form of remuneration. 8.8 Personal Information: Notwithstanding the permission granted in
8.8, Unless the entrant has otherwise authorized the Administrator or another entity related to the Contest to contact him or her, the personal information gathered about entrants in connection with this Contest will be used solely for the administration of the Contest and reasons related to the In Service of Love Contest and its partners.
8.9 Identity of the Entrant: For the purposes of these Contest Rules, the entrant is the person who is the holder of the email account submitted in the entry form. It is to this individual that the prize will be awarded if selected and declared as the winner.
